Our outstanding works is equally recognised by Building and Construction Authority (BCA) of Singapore, who champions the development of an excellent built environment or Singapore; “Built environment” refers to buildings, structures and infrastructure in our surroundings that provide the setting for the community’s activities. In 2018, we have also won similar accolades that reinforced the company’s capabilities in the Built Industry.

In 2013, Straits Construction was awarded the “HDB Construction Award (Distinguished)” for the Casa Clementi project, a top honour in HDB Awards. It is also the first time ever, which HDB make this award for Builders, in recognition for commendable achievement in terms of quality and excellence for any project. Casa Clementi is one of the largest public housing projects developed by HDB with 10 high-rise residential blocks consisting of 2,234 dwelling units. Despite the scale of this project, it was completed on time and judges were impressed with the results.

To ensure quality workmanship prevails in all construction projects locally, the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) of Singapore has established a moderating standard. This standard “CONQUAS”, besides measuring the quality of architectural, structural and MEP services workmanship against an acceptable baseline, it also publish the results for all construction projects in Singapore. Builders can then evaluate their performance against industry average and therefore develop improvement programmes to better their results in subsequent projects. Straits Construction remains a consistent achiever in various categories. Despite this achievement, Straits Construction remains grounded while we continuously pursue improvement to build better quality homes and buildings for the industry.

The accomplishment in building quality home on a timely basis does not mean any compromise on safety at the workplace. The RoSPA (UK) Occupational Health and Safety Awards are internationally recognised and have fast become the most sought after accolade by organisations from every sector. Straits Construction continues to capture these awards year-after-year for their projects. Always consciously aware of safety priorities, Straits Construction has continuously improved on their “work safety and health” programme through regular training, inspections and innovative use of technology.
